The Eleventh Shanghai Congress of CPC was ceremoniously held in Pudong Expo Center on May 8-12. Comrade Xu Datong, the President and Deputy CPC Secretary of the Company was present as one of the new session of Party representatives in Shanghai and specially interviewed by reporters from Dragon TV and STV.
During the Congress, President Xu participated in the deliberation of Group IX for Finance and Economics & Information Technology System, and received exclusive interviews with Dragon TV and other media in respect of such topics as the integration of central enterprises with local economic development, the Free Trade Zone development in Shanghai, and the development of Technology Entrepreneurship Center. President Xu pointed out in the interview that the central government requires Shanghai to be the pioneer and vanguard of reform, in response to which, Shanghai should take the Free Trade Zone development as a breakthrough point, and the Technology Entrepreneurship Center as a carrier. Shanghai-based central enterprises have to promote enterprise transformation and upgrading through reform & innovation, and make new contributions to “the Four Centers” initiative in Shanghai and the development of Shanghai as a modernized international socialist metropolis in the next five years.
